lighting.

Light fixtures are expensive. I found this out after we bought our house complete with dated light fixtures in every room. I dreamed of having some beautiful fixtures from Circa Lighting but that definitely was not in the budget. So after searching high and low for some affordable options we found a few we are really happy with.

Here are some quick shots of a couple of the new light fixtures in our home. Of course these cruddy photos don't do them justice but they're really pretty. I promise!

etsy shop: lucent lampworks.

Gorgeous vintage and industrial lighting from Pennsylvania based Lucent Lampworks.  The glass globe pendant light (top right) is my favorite.

brass accents.

I keep noticing beautiful rooms popping up with little touches of brass in them.  It seems the most common way to introduce brass is in light fixtures.  Although, I have also been seeing brass vessels and brass hardware as well.  I am a big fan of brass accents.  I think it brings a warm, vintage feel to a space.  The gorgeous brass hardware is one of the main things that drew me to the apothecary chest I recently purchased.  I'm thinking a nice brass light fixture would be another nice addition to my interior decor.  I'm adding it to my "hope to buy someday" list.

someone please help...

This little arc lamp for sale on Charleston's craigslist is begging for a new home.  It wants to be somewhere where it can be fabulous and appreciated (aka not in a room like the one it is pictured in).  Something more like these...

Did I mention there are two available?  And that they are asking only $175 for the pair?  Yep...that's right.  Check it out here.

kitchen crush

This kitchen has a little bit of all my favorite things:  white cabinetry, mid century modern chairs, a little splash of blue, and beautiful light fixtures.  So perfect.
