Much more soothing!  So, this weekend I finally got around to painting the accent wall in my apartment.  The red wall worked perfectly for my landlords but it didn't really match my taste.  Lucky for me, my landlords were okay with me painting it when I asked.  Off to Lowe's I went this weekend and picked out "adolescent" grey from Olympic paints.  It is a little more blue than I wanted (I think because of the buttery off-white color of the other walls) but I like it. 

Things are finally coming along in my little apartment.  I also made some updates in my bedroom...I'll have to post some pictures later this week.  I feel like I have made some strides in decorating my place but I still have so much more to do.  Like buy dining room chairs.  And hang pictures.  And buy a TV console.  And get curtains.  I could go on and on.  One thing at a time I guess....

gray is here to stay

In the latest issue of Lonny, Farrow and Ball announced their prediction for the hottest colors of 2011.  Of course, gray was at the top of the list.  As a huge fan of the color gray, I am so excited to see this color trend sticking around for another year! 

What are your thoughts?  Still crazy about the color gray or so over it?

Wednesday's Words of Wisdom

Bedroom Makeover Part 1

Here are my bedroom makeover pictures! Now, this is just phase 1 of the bedroom makeover...there is still lots to be done. But I thought I would go ahead and share them with you per your requests :) Please note that this bedroom is actually my childhood bedroom (which explains the pink and green motif)...yes, that means I have recently moved back in with the 'rents. I had plans to move into an apartment with a friend but it didn't work out. So, since I will be staying at the 'rents house (for now) I decided to make my space my own again. I am really pleased with it so far! So, here are the before and after photos:

So relaxing compared to my old bedroom! I will say that I was sad to see my stripes go but it was time for a change!

Here is my to do list to complete my bedroom makeover: hang pictures (that window above the bed may or may not stay), buy throw pillows, move in/arrange furniture, and accessorize. Doesn't sound like much but I know it will take me awhile to get things how I want them. Of course, I will display the final product here on Design Blossom! So, what do ya'll think?!

Gray Walls

Whew! Just got done painting my bedroom!!! It took two coats of primer and one coat of paint to cover up the stripes that used to be there. But now my bedroom is a lovely shade of gray! I'm so excited about it! Of course, I will be posting pictures of my newly painted bedroom in the near future! So, stay tuned. In the meantime, check out these inspiration rooms with gray walls...
