Never gets old. Admiring this casual collection from Baldwin Denim's Fall / Winter 2013 lookbook.

Happy Thursday.

thoughts on boots.

I was wandering around Target today and came across their shoe section and was surprised to see Fall shoes already out. I guess August is only two days away though! Anyways, they had a really cute selection of boots and they were all $35 and under! To me they all look like boots you would see at Madewell for much much less.

Last year I purchased the black pair (second pair above) and I have been really happy with them. So today I went ahead and grabbed this olive pair (third pair above) because they were super comfortable and I like the low heel.

Now I just have to wait for the cool Fall weather to come.

lately.

1st row:  recycled a Rifle Paper Co. calendar print as artwork for our bathroom, a pretty mess of things by my bedside table, sweater weather- finally!

2nd row:  date night with the BF complete with s'mores, wine, and a cozy fire, chatham county line concert at the neighborhood theatre, so proud of my pumpkin this year (i got the idea on tumblr)

3rd row:  this week's flowers- so perfect for fall, out for brunch at a lovely spot in black mountain, pretty views in the mountains of asheville during our overnight camping trip

Happy Halloween!

I would wear this everyday.

fall.

The first day of Fall is tomorrow.  Cool weather, pumpkin donuts, layered clothing, and mums are a few of my favorite Fall things.  I can't wait.

Happy Friday.

weekend review.

Another great weekend here in Charleston.  The BF and I spent our weekend doing all sorts of random things including:  running Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, dancing in a flash mob, attending a BBQ wedding shower complete with redneck wine glasses, lunch at the Tattoed Moose (where I got a yummy seasonal walnut beer), exploring the coastal town of McClellanville,  and enjoying a picnic at sunset at Demetre Park in James Island.  It was a lovely weekend for sure :)

Hope you had a great weekend as well!  Happy Monday!

raspberry and red.

I just came across the raspberry and red blog via You Are My Fave and I'm obsessed.  I love Weronika's simple and effortless style.  She is my new go-to for style inspiration.  And she is only 16 years old.   Seriously.

october.

Hope you had a lovely first October weekend!  Me and the BF spent the weekend in Pittsburgh for a wedding.  Unfortunately, it was rainy and 40 degrees outside the whole time we were there!  We were definitely ready to come back to Charlotte where the weather was crisp and chilly.  It was pretty much perfect fall weather.  Now, I'm back home in Charleston where it is a nice 80 degrees.

I am very much enjoying the cooler weather of Fall and the pumpkin flavors popping up everywhere.  I have already treated myself to a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks and a pumpkin donut from Dunkin Donuts!  They are both delicious.  I'll definitely be treating myself to more of each in the next few weeks :)

Happy Tuesday!

Today, I am going on a road trip to Pittsburgh with the BF.  The high for tomorrow in Pittsburgh is 44 degrees!  Eek!  Let's hope I can stay warm :)

Here is some link love for you to enjoy.  Hope you have a lovely weekend!

3.  Loving this artwork by Caroline Wright.  Especially the drip and the line series.
4.  Wishing my hair was long enough to try out these pretty hairstyles.

how-to.

I am always looking for a little help in the fashion and beauty departments.  I often see trends that I think I would like to try but I'm not really sure how to execute them in "real life."  I found these two videos on fall layering and bold lips to be really helpful.  The videos are simple, fun, and inspiring.  I definitely want to give these two looks a try!

words of wisdom.

"It is always the simple things that change our lives. And these things never happen when you are looking for them to happen. Life will reveal answers at the pace life wishes to do so. You feel like running, life is on a stroll.” -donald miller
