This gorgeous kitchen remodel is the work of interior designer Lauren Leiss. I am completely in love with the whole thing. On her website she describes her style in a few words: simplicity, comfort, nature, ease, relaxed luxury. I think she has summed it up perfectly.

Happy April Fools Day.

monday...monday...

Hello friends. Hope you had a lovely weekend. I am enjoying my "weekend" today as I worked all weekend and will work the next couple days so I can be off for a quick trip to Charleston. My little brother is getting married and we are heading down to be a part of the wedding weekend! I am so looking forward to spending time with family and enjoying Charleston for a few days. I can't wait.

Any who, I was thinking the other day that I have gotten away from interior design posts lately. Interior design is really where my heart lies and I feel like I should get back to it. So, I thought I would start back with one of my favorite inspirations- the color white. So fresh and crisp, you really can't go wrong.

Clockwise from top left:
Room One- I love the floor to ceiling white cabinetry. I know I usually sing the praises of open shelving in kitchens but I really like the top cabinets in this instance! And those rustic wood floors are beautiful. Along with the huge island in a different wood tone- its a perfect combination.

Room Two- This little bedroom is so simple yet so charming. I love the exposed white slat and beam ceiling. Fresh white linens + mosquito net (which can look tacky 99% of the time but is elegantly done here) make for an inviting spot to rest your head. And you can find look-a-like natural wood lamp at Target here.

Room Three- I really like the wainscoting on the wall behind the bed. Makes for some understated visual interest. That bed looks so comfortable and is perfect paired with the single contrasting pillow.

Room Four- Where to start? The herringbone wood floors, white cabinetry, subway tile, open shelving, or the dark stained butcher block counter top? Each detail is beautiful.

Happy Monday!

I love the...

no. 01: brass hardware and marble top island

no. 02: industrial style sconces and geometric wallpaper

no. 03: exposed beams and black + white claw foot tub

no. 04:  hex tile floor and green glass jugs

We had a lovely time in Nashville this weekend. We ate at some amazing restaurants, checked out all the different neighborhoods around the city, explored historic downtown Franklin, and spent time with one of my best friends.  Of course, we watched the Superbowl as well.  The BF is a huge Ravens fan and we were so excited when they won!  And I thoroughly enjoyed the half-time show with Beyonce and the surprise bit by Destiny's Child.  It was amazing. I secretly wish I could dance as sexy as Beyonce can.  Girl can move :)

Happy Tuesday.

kitchen + dining.

This kitchen + breakfast nook is the perfect combination of traditional and modern.  The black and white color scheme is so pretty when paired with natural wood.  And of course, herringbone wood floors win my heart every time.

Happy Tuesday friends.

pretties.

Feeling a bit under the weather today.  I find that hot tea, chicken noodle soup, and pretty interiors always help me feel better.  These kitchens are some of my favorites at the moment.

kitchen love.

There are so many things that I love in this kitchen- industrial lighting, brass hardware, herringbone wood  floors, mason jars, mid-century modern furniture, and open shelving.

So pretty.

Another one for team open shelving.

seafoam.

Beautiful loft belonging to interior stylist Emma Persson Lagerberg and her husband (who is the drummer for the Cardigans!).  I love the white painted floors throughout the loft and the seafoam green cabinets in the kitchen.

A little inspiration for the day.
I'm obsessed with that collection of wood cutting boards.
And those beautiful potted plants surrounding the doorway.

spaces.

I am liking casual spaces today.

calm + clean.

I am quite fond of white spaces lately.  They feel so clean and fresh.  I am particularly in love with this bathroom (above).  It was featured in the latest issue of House Beautiful and I absolutely adore all the vintage details.

grey + kitchens.

I am currently questioning having a white kitchen on my "must have one day" list.  I have been falling in love with kitchens with grey cabinetry lately.   The grey cabinetry paired with white walls and rustic accents is absolutely gorgeous.  I like how the combination brings a more masculine feel to the space.

Definitely crossing off white kitchens on my "must have" list.

understated.

This understated white kitchen is beautiful.  I love the vintage accents, open shelving, and the contrast between the stark white cabinetry and the dark hardwood floors.  Absolutely perfect.
