oh julia.
I watched Julie & Julia the other night. I couldn't help but be inspired by Julia Child's Massachusetts home in the movie. I just love the kitchen. I am normally a sucker for all things white in the kitchen but this kitchen has such personality! I love the bright blue upper cabinets paired with the celadon green lower cabinets and interior door. It just says, "oh look at me...I'm happy to be here cooking in my little kitchen."
And then there is Julia's front door. I am slightly obsessed with lovely painted exterior doors (see here). Julia's door is perfect shade of green with just a hint of a blue tone coming through. It is a subtle color but it still has some personality to it. I can't wait for the day where I can come home to a front door that isn't ho hum black!
BTW I think this movie is absolutely wonderful. Definitely a "feel good" movie. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it!
Feeling a bit under the weather today. I'll be spending the day on the couch resting, eating soup, drinking OJ, and catching up on all these fabulous online magazines that have been released recently! Hoping I'll be back up and at 'em tomorrow! Happy Thursday!
kitchen crush
This kitchen has a little bit of all my favorite things: white cabinetry, mid century modern chairs, a little splash of blue, and beautiful light fixtures. So perfect.

Kitchen Crush
I love everything about this little kitchen. Love the old kitchen table with a hodge podge of chairs, the white glass-front cabinets, the over sized stainless steel range with hood, the natural wood ceiling beam, and of course the chandelier. Just a perfect mix of materials.

It's official....
A touch of pink...
Every girl needs a touch of pink in their lives...don't you think? Hope everyone had a lovely weekend! I worked all weekend so I'm glad to have the day off today :) I'll be working on re-painting my headboard for my bedroom. I'm painting it white again because the wood stain is coming through my first paint job. Hopefully I'll get the right primer this time to prevent any future problems! I'll post some pictures when it is back in my room. Happy Monday!

Perfect Pint-Sized Kitchens
So, I was flipping through my inspiration files and noticed that all my favorite kitchen images were tiny little galley style kitchens! For whatever reason I am just drawn to them. Maybe I really like them because I get annoyed by excess sometimes. These kitchens are the perfect example of how living just with what you need (no excess or over the top stuff) can be stylish and comfortable!
