friday favorites.

Hooray for the weekend!  Tomorrow is the big Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.  I am so proud that I surpassed my fundraising goal for the event with the support of my friends and family!  I am really excited to run (probably more like slowly jog) the race.  I haven't run in a race in a few years!

Here are some of my favorite posts from the week:

1.  I personally think kids look pretty freaking cute in hipster clothes.  Especially this kid from Zara Girl's lookbook.
2.  After sharing my love for pretty stamps earlier this week, I came across this post on Madewell's Blog about vintage stamps.  I love the idea of using vintage stamps to create unique wedding invitations.
3.  Holiday Gift Guide by Emily Henderson?  Yes please.  I have a feeling this gift guide will not disappoint.  It is scheduled to be released November 1st...just in time for your holiday shopping.
4.  I loved this post on Dwell Studio Fall 2011 catalog.  Their mid-century inspired furniture is beautiful.

I'm back from my vacation to Maryland.  I had a lot of fun meeting the BF's friends from high school, white water rafting, and just relaxing by the fire at night.  Definitely was the vacation I had been needing.

It has been a pretty crazy work week and I'm so glad to have the day off today to catch up on life!  I have lots of cleaning to do around my apartment but I'm definitely going to stop by the new J.Crew outlet that just opened here in Charleston.  I hope I'll find some deals!

Modern.  Eclectic.  Scandinavian.  Beautiful.  I think that pretty much sums up the style of interiors porn (another one of my favorite tumblr accounts).  I love their description of interiors porn: 

"You can't stop looking and start to imagine how it would feel like to live in a room like that. You drool just by looking at the textures, the colours and the light that comes from the large windows. You dream about it, you're addicted to it. Your interiors, your porn."

 So true for a design junkie like me!  If you need a little room inspiration you should definitely hit up this site.

This kitchen has a little bit of all my favorite things:  white cabinetry, mid century modern chairs, a little splash of blue, and beautiful light fixtures.  So perfect.

Going Mod

So, this morning before leaving work I was chatting with my co-worker Shirley. She is really into mid-century modern home decor/design. She and her husband are super thrift store shoppers in the Columbia area. Pretty much all of their mid-century modern home is filled with things found from local thrift stores!

Anyways, that's besides the point....the point is Shirley was telling me about this fabulous modern home tour she went to in Atlanta over the weekend. The whole thing intrigued me so I googled it. I must say I am very impressed! Check out these photos from Modern Atlanta.
